Interpretation based on the following study:  In this same way also, the Son joined and completed us to Himself in a relation of proximity and participation.  He paid in full to bear the result, fully satisfying and bring it to an end by His Word.  Hereunto, He accomplished and completed to renew, giving newness of life and spirit in the power of the Holy Spirit.  He appointed and ordained us heirs to rest in Him.  By His Blood, reconciling and making peace to join mankind to belong to His Family.  On our behalf and for our sakes, He gave of Himself freely, to save and deliver us according to His Will for us.
